Belgian Blue Belle is a bark-tanned sheepskin from the May 2026 drop of sheepers, named after various breeds of cattle, cause these hides are beeeeeefy.
Belgian Blue measures roughly:
37“ long
29“ at its widest
2-3“ of pure lush woolly fiber
*Belgian Blue has shaggier fine more white wool than Holstein. Holstein is thicker, heavier wool.
This sheepskin is being sold as a tandem love project between Lo & Driftless Tannery, based out of Wisconsin. Lo’s goal is to work with co-ops, small tanneries, farmers, and butchers to ethically tan sheepskin & provide them for feral folks & critters near, far, local, and otherwise.
Sheepskins have made a large difference in my day-to-day life, regulating body temperature and pain, and they’re hypoallergenic. Plus, who doesn’t love being part of a mission to reduce animal waste that would have otherwise been destroyed or thrown out?
